Why is the NFL's perfect season 17-0?
A modern NFL regular season is 17 games long, so a perfect regular season is 17-0. The number is famous because of the 1972 Dolphins — the only team ever to finish a full year unbeaten — and because the 2007 Patriots came one win short at 18-1.
